1 One first offending inebriate, who had spent the week-end in the cells, was convicted and discharged, and two others were fined 10s, the amount of the bail allowed them. Joseph Dossenbach, for a second offence, was ordered to forfeit his bail (20s). Harry Blair Paton, who had been three times previously convicted of drunkenness within six months, had his ''bail (40s) estreated, and an order was made that a prohibition order should be issued against him. William Henry Cox, alias Smith, alias Nuggett, pleaded guilty to two charges of theft. The first concerned a pair of boots and a cardigan jacket stolen from a room-mate named Matthew' O'Neill on 22rid March last, and the second a canvas ;bag which was "borrowed" from Patrick (Lockett on the 18th instant, but was not returned. Cox, who had been previously convicted of theft, was sent to gaol for a month on, the first, charge. and was convicted and discharged on the second, and as he said. that drink, was responsible for his action, he was also prohibited
