COTTON-SPINNERS' STRIKE
DEFENCE OF THE REALM ACT INVOKED.
(AHS. AND N.Z. CABLE ASSN. AND REUTEB.) , LONDON, 11th September. The Press Bureau states : In view of the operative cotton spinners' decision tp strike the Government has invoked the Defence of the Realm Act and obtained an interim injunction from the Court to prevent the distribution of strike pay. The Board of Trade states that the dispute is not between the employers and the operatives, but relates solely to the conditons under which unemployment benefits are paid from the fund collected under conditions drawn up by the Cotton Control Board, which is representative of both employers and operatives.
