AN N.C.O.'s OFFENCE
Q.M.S. W. H. O'Mara,. Featherston Details, has been found guilty by a district court-martial, held at Featherston Camp, of disobeying a lawful command given by his superior officer, and of absenting himself without leave. The sentence imposed was reduction to the ranks with imprisonment with hard labour for six months, but this has been mitigated to reduction to the ranks and 180 days' detention, with the further mitigation that if the a-ccused embarks for a-ctive service outside. New Zealand —then, upon arrival at the final port of disembarkation the unexpired portion (if any) of hie period of detention shall be remitted, and liis New Zealand records shall be endorsed accordingly.
