Lack of uniformity in the attitude of Education Boards in regard to appeals for exemption of teachers from military service was again mentioned by the Minister to-day. | Mr. Hanan remarked to a deputation tliat Canterbury, where the Education Board had decided that it would not appeal for teachers, there was the usual demand for smaller classes. This meant a demand for more teachers, while the number was being reduced by the calls to camp.
