"RICE RIOTS" IN JAPAN
ANTIPATHY TO PROFITEERS.

LONDON, 18th August. ''Bice riots" have broken out in Japan, and are the most serious ever experienced. Troops were called out in nearly every important city, and at several places fired on the mob. It is considered that the high prices of rice grievance is only a pretext for venting popular antipathy against the war profiteers.
