TIENTSIN, 18th August. A French detachment reached Kikolaievsk on Saturday, to join the British and Czechs, who are already there. Japanese troops are expected to arrive early., The Czech; General urgently appeals to the Allies to augment their assistance to enable them, to hold Irkutsk. The appearance of the Allies in Siberia hae caused numerous desertions in the Bolshevik ranks.
It is officially announced in Tokio that Japan is despatching troops to Manchuria to protect the frontier.
