EMPRESS THEATRE.
R. W. Chambers is the author of "The Woman Between Friends," commencing at the Empress Theatre to-day. Alice Joyce plays the leading role. .The story tells of a sculptor and an artist who swore eternal friendship on the eve of the sculptor's marriage. But before very long the artist ran away with his friend's wife, and in due course tired of her, with the result that she became an outcast, and was eventually killed in an accident which her husband witnessed. There is an intensely- stirring .finish to the story.
