A presentation of a case of pipes and a safety razor was made to Mr. John Halliburton yesterday by his fellow employees at Mr. H. Savage's saddlery warehouse. Mr. Halliburton, who goes into camp with the 15th Reinforcements, also received a substantial gift from his employer.
The death is announced of Mr. John Lundon, manager of the Bank of Now South Wales at Cambridge. The deceased gentleman was the third koii of the late Mr. David Lundon, Collector of Customs at the Thames in tlie early days of the goldfield, and had been in the service of the bank for 43 years. For some years he was in charge of the Pahiatua branch, and was then transferred for health reasons to Cambridge.
