A FIGHT IN THE ATLANTIC
BRITISH TRANSPORT AND A
U-BOAT.
(ACSTKALIAN-KRW EEM.AND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) OTTAWA, 14th Aug-iist. A report from an Atlantic port states thit a British transport fought off a Üboat for two hours. The transport's guns were unable to reach the U-boat, but they placed a barrage, which prevented the U-boat approaching nearer. The U-boat's shells fell in the closest proximity to the transport.
