RUGBY GAMES
10 THE EDITOR.
Sir, —I noticed in the deputation to the Rugbyi Union by the Petone Football Club that a. statement wa« made by them that the Wellington public were one-eyed. Now, sir, I have been a keen spectator of the best of all games for years, and also an admirer of the Petone senior team, for their clean, hard, and scientific play. They are one of the hard, est teams to mret in the-competition, therefore it is only natural that supporters of the town teams should urge their side to victory, but i think on the whole the town barrackers are very fair, applauding good play on all sides. I would just like to ask the Petone supporters, are they impartial when a city team is playing-on their own ground?" The last time the writer was out there he got hustled for his open support of the town team, Jjufc he did not mind, quite understanding their pride in their own fine players. I am sorry the Petone supporters have led their players into this sort of thing, because it will only make them unpopular, when at present they are one of the most popular teams in the competition.—l am, etc.,
CITY BARRACKER,
