Australian newspaper delegation at luncheon. There was a.representative gathering. Several bankers welcomed thel guests, and emphasised the increasing trade which was bound to spring up between Australia and America after the war. America gave the heartiest greeting to the Anzac soldiers who visited New York.

Mr. J. 0. Fairfax (Sydney Morning Herald), replying, paid a tribute to America's tremendous war activities and her success on the West front. One thing which Australia would like to know, he said, was the attitude of America towards the Pacific. America had outposts in the Pacific, and there were many reasons why her views of the control of the Pacific should coincide with those of Australia. '
