COST OF SAMOA
£357,982 TO 31st MARCH,
A return received 1 by the Minister of Defence shows'that the cost of the military occupation of Samoa to 31st March this year was £357,982 12s lOd. The principal items are: —Pay and allowances, £179,040 15s 8d; transports (fitting, hire, etc.), £90,131 7s 9d; rations, £48,009 16s lid; forage, £15,557 2s 9d.
The total cost for the quarter ended' 31st March ; was £16,822 15s lOd.
