Dr. Milner's father was an Englishman, who settledl in- Ger; many and married 1 a German woman, and their son, Dr. Milner, practised as a physician in London, and became later Reader ( in English at Tubingen University in Germany. Lord Milner was educated' first at Tubingen, then at King's College, London, and at Oxford. Sir Alfred Mond is the. son of Ludwig Mond, who was born at Cassel in Germany in 1839. Ludvrcg Mond came to' England in 1862, and beca.me a naturalised British subject in 1867. He was one of the founders of the great chemical manufacturing firm of Brmuier, Mond, and Company, and was one of the earliest successful inventors of producer gas.]
