At the Grand Opera House last night members of the theatrical fraternity j farewelled two members of the Stage ! Employees' Union now in camp, Messrs. J. Foley and C. Malm. The gathering was most enthusiastic and informal, a feature being an address on the Allies by the Hon. T. M. Wilford, who was received with applause. With musical i items and short speeches of a happy na- j ture a jolly time was spent. Among ; those contributing, were Miss Patsie i Hill, and Messrs. G. Ivanoff and F. j Dennett, and Mrs. Summers. Speeches j ' were made by Mr. Parrel], Mr. Brodie ' Mack, and Mr. Waller, while to the toast of "The Ladies" Mrs. Waller responded. Mr. Dennett also made refer- I ence to the occasion. The two guests re- j ceived wristlet watches, Mr. M'Kenna. i making the presentation, and wishing the j recipients luek»and bon voyage. Opportunity was also taken to make the fnnction a send-off to six other members of the union who are shortly entering camp.' Council has agreed to supply the Gear Meat Company with water during the winter months at the rate of 3d per 1000 gallons. There is a condition in the agreement that the council has the right to cut off the supply at a moment's notice. The Gear Company, on its part, has agreed to pump water into the Corporal tion mains, if required, in case of a fire during the winter months. Messrs. C. W.
