S.F.A. BOARD'S WORK

Daring June, the Soldiers' Financinl Assistance Board held 21 meetings and dealt with 946 applications, including 130 reconsidered cases. An official summary states that 50 applications were withdrawn, 178 declined, and 30 deferred for further information; 689 grants were made. Altogether 1091 new applications were received—only 11 short of the previous month, in which the highest figures since the establishment of the board were recorded.

To 30th June the board had held 301 meetings, and had considered 11,795 applications (comprising 9988 new cases and 1807 reconsidered cases). The total grants (5767 cases) to 30th June were at the rate of £179,657 12s a year.
