CIVIL ENGINEERS
The concluding stages of the Civil Engineers' Conference were entered 1 upon this morning, Mr. J. Blair Mason presiding. Among the subjects discussed were the advantages to be gained' by road tunnelling to do away.with sharp "pinches" on hills and reinforced concrete arches on railways. The newlyelected president, Mr. S. A. R. Mair, was duly installed into -08106. This afternoon, members, as guesta of the Harbour Board, are visiting the Patent Slip and the Wellington Gas Company's works at Miramar.
