Women in Print.
A new movement, and one that is likely to be very successful and pleasant, has been originated in connection with the Pioneer Club by Mrs. D. C. Bates. It consists of tho formation of a. partsinging circle for women, and the idea has been readily taken up, quite a number having joined. _ It is hoped that all musical members will join this circle, as good work is likely to be done.
Mrs. Shand (Dunedin) is visiting her daughter, 'Mrs. Hale-Munro, at Hataitaj.
Mrs. Cyril Ward has returned to Christchurch after a visit to Lady Ward.
The weekly dance for soldiers will take place in Sydney-street Soldiers' Club this evening. '■' ' ?
On Thursday a packing in connection with the. Countess' of Liverpool Fund •will tako place at the Town Hall, when it is hoped that many workers" will be present.
A marriage took pk-ce yesterday, which was. intendad to be a profquncl secret, but which, after the usual""manner of such things, becaraeJ known "somehow," and Miss- Jilarjorie Sims. an/V Mr. Rieha.rd White (both members of the company now/in season at the Qrand Opera House), ait-DB the ceremony had baen performed, found themselves confronted with many friends, who. were well provided, with confetti, rose leaves, etc., with -which to besprinkle them. Then, later, everybody adjourned to the Ria.lto, where the wedding feast, was accompanied with songs and other music. Mr. and Mrs. Riohard- White received numbers of good wishes, and in the evening at tho Opera House were entertained at supper,, and given many charming and useful presents. ;
Miss Dorothy Greenish returned lastweek from a, visit to Sydney.
Mrs. Sol. Myers and Miss. Martha. Myers have; returned from Australia, and, are staying .at tho Hotel Windsor.
