MAGISTRATES COURT
To-day's sitting of the Magistrate's Court was presided over by Mr. S. E. M'Carthy, S..M.
Three first-offending inebriates were dealt with. Two were fined 10s, in default 24 hours' imprisonment, and the third had his bail, 20s, estreated.
John H. Page, who was £9 in arrears in respect to a maintenance order in favour of his wife, was > ordered to find security for the payment of instalments, as ordered. The security was fixed at £250 himself and two sureties of £125 each. Three weeks were allowed defendant in which to find security. The case has been brought before the Court several times, but, although defendant wrote that the arrears would be made good, only .£2 has been received from him.
