FIGURES FOR 1918.

WASHINGTON, 15th February. It is semi-officially stated that Britain and the United States produced 2,064,090 tons of shipping in 1917, whereas the sinkings are estimated at 6,000,000 tons. America's production for 1918 .will show a tremendous increase.
The New York Tribune's Washington correspondent states that the Government may seize the control of all shipyards.
