RUMANIANS AND RUSSIANS FIGHT
SERIOUS STRUGGLE ON THE
DANUBE.

PETROGRAD, 27th January. Serious fighting' is reported from Brest Litoysk between the Russians and "Rumanians on 20th January, in the vicinity
of Gaktz. The Ninth and a portion of the Tenth Siberian Divisions attempted tc> break through in order to regain Russian territory, from which they "had been cut off by the Rumanians' hea-vy artillery, and monitors in the Danwbo were engaged. The attempts so_ far have failed, and the fighting continues.
