THE PORT OF LONDON
PROPOSED CLOSURE TO MERCHANTMEN. (AUSTRALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received January 26, 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, 25th. January. A deputation of London members of Parliament interviewed the Shipping Controller (Sir Joseph Maclay) to-day, in reference to a. report that the Port of London is being closed to merchant shipping. The deputation pointed out that the step would cause a vast dislocation of labour and trade.
