G.G. KELLY AND CO.,

Cycle and Motor Engineers, Levin, Foxton, Shannon. Scarcely any branch of industry has developed so rapidly within recent years as, that of cycle and motor-cycle manufacture and agency. Its influence on commerce is of a very important character; and the successful manner in which the trade is being expanded in Levin, Foxton, and Shannon finds ample demonstration, in the business of Messrs. G. G. Kelly and Co., in -whose wellequipped workshops and showrooms every phase of the industry is represented. The principal's long, varied, and practical experience in every department of the trade has given him a. thorough knowledge of the cycling requirements of the country, a sine qua non to all desirous of conducting a cycle business •on a basis satisfactory to themselves and the general public. A short history of the rise and progress of the business since its inception will be. of interest at the present time. In 1915 a Mr. Henderson sold his business at Levin to the original firm of Bobertson and Kelly. Later in the. same year another cycle agent—Mr. N. L. Barrett—disposed of his Levfn business to the same firm and took up a position in the new concern as foreman mechanic at Levin. Subsequently in August of the same year the Foxton branch was opened, and a real good connection was rapidly established. In June of 1916 a dissolution of partnership took place in -the old firm. Mr. Kelly then opened his Shannon shop, and later, in 1917, the business of Mr. M'Kinnon and also that of Mr. H. Graham was incorporated. Mr. Graham is now managing the repair department of the Shannon branch. In April, 1917, the Foxton and Levin business wa« acquired from Messrs. Robertson and Co. by the now well-known firm of Kelly and Co., who have since also purchased the cycle and motor-cycle branch of Mr. C. Simmond's Foxton business, and jplaced it under the management of Mr. Barrett, who is recognised as a capable tradesman. The wonderful success met with by Messrs. G. G. Kelly and Co. is attributed to the firm's determination to satisfy their clients, and the fact that the famous Harley-Davidson has been their chief motor-cycle agency. The high standard of these great machines has been a good indication to the public that quality is one of the main- characteristics of G. G. Kelly and Co., of Foxton," Levin, and Shannon.
