, The 1 Rev. E. Drake occupied the chair at the last quarterly meeting of the Wellington South Methodist Circuit. The Rev. J. Richards was also present. Prom a, financial point the working of the past quarter was considered satisfactory. Reports from the : Sunday schools were of an encouraging nature. Tho election of officers resulted : —Cirouit stewards, Messrs. Martin and Cockerell; foreign mission secretary, ,Mr v S. Boxall; circuit auditors, Messrs. Swiney and Webb; re,, porter to Methodist Times, Mr. Swiney. For the forthcoming conference, which opens at Dunedin,' Messrs. S. T. Martin and T. Fathers were elected representatives, with Mr. Shepherdson and Mrs. Johnson-Wright as substitutes.- In connection ; with foreign missions, it was mentioned that the circuit.had l-aised £119 for this purpose, and a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr. J. P. Shand on his retiring from tho office of secretary. A request from the Donald M'Lean-street congregation that they be permitted to arrange for the services of the' Rev. Val Triggs^for an. evangelistic mission was acceded: to.
