LONDON, 22nd September.
A German official report states: Oat divisions broke through the Russian positions north-west of Jacobstadt. The enemy was forced back against the river, yielded a bridgehead 40 kilometres (25 miles) wide and 10 kilometres (6^ miles) deep on the western bank of the Dvina, and fled to the eastern, bank. Jacobstadt is in our hands, and we have captured over, 50 guns.
