Record entries have been received for the September competition for the Osmond Shield, which commences this week. No fewer than eight teams, representing eighty competitors, have entered, the previous best entry being four teams. "That miniature rifle shooting is becoming popular is evident by the entry .of two teams composed entirely of ladies, who have.been practising assiduously and will no doubt give a good account of themselves. The competiing teams are Lower Hutt, Petone,' Petone Ladies, Wellington Ladies, Brooklyn A and B teams, and Wellington South A and B teams. The conditions allow teams to shoot on their home range, so some high scores should bo reported. The competition closes next Saturday, and the results will be announced early next week.
