A SOLDIER'S MATCH.
Quite an interesting game was that between teams representing H 30th Reinforcements, and the n.co.'s of the 35th Reinforcements. It was a rattling hard game and resulted in favour of the latter by 11 points to nil. Haddon scored two tries for the winners. Sand'el converted one of them, and also kicked a penalty goal. Mr. J. Hayden was the referee. OTHER GAMES. In the final of the 4th grade championship Selwyn beat St. John's by 20 points to 8. For the winners trie* were secured by Trotter, Carroll, Parker, Reeves, and Wilson. One of these wa« converted by Watson, and Carroll kicked a penalty goal. Gimson scored for the losers, and his itry was converted by Gillespie, who also notched a goal from a penalty. Mr. ',H. Paton controlled the game. In the final of the 6th grade championship St. James beat Petone by 6 points to nil. The winner's scores consisted of a
try by Nicholls, and a, penalty goal by Willcox. Blr. W. Brooker was th» referee.
