"LA MASCOTTE"
"La Maseotte," which set the world a-whistling thirty years ago, will be revived by the Wellington Amateur Operatic Society at the Grand Opera House on Saturday evening next for a season of seven nights. For this performance the cleverest amateurs in Wellington have been busily rehearsing for the last three months, and the result of their endeavours is looked forward to with pleasurable anticipation, as "La, Maseotte" is one of the society's most ambitious attempts in the sphere of comic opera. One outstanding feature of the opera, which is rich in opportunities in many directions, is the dressing!
