REPLY TO POPE'S NOTE
CENTRAL POWERS OFFER TO DISCUSS
"IF THE ENTENTE POWERS ARE EQUALLY CONCILIATORY,"
AMSTERDAM, 15th September.
The Tijd's "Vienna correspondent states that the reply of the Central Powers to the Pope's Note accept the. Note as a basis of negotiations. The Central •Powers are willing to discuss an exchange of occupied territories, and' aJso the questions of arbitration and disarmament. The' reply offers a conciliatory settlement of the issues in Belgium, Poland, and the Balkans if ths conditions of the Entente Powers are equally conciliatory.
