SOUTH ISLAND WHEAT MARKET
Regarding the South Island wheat market, the Timaru Herald reported on' Saturday :—" There is no wheat now offering locally,l and' there are no stocks in store except some lines that are held for millers. The demand for fowl wheat continues good, but only a few lines of inferior quality are offering. The demand far exceeds the supply. Local millers are reported to be fairly well stocked with both wheat and flour, but millers in the South are said to be very short of supplies of wheat. Heavy stocks of Australian flour in the North Island are interfering with the demand for the focal article."
