THE SHIPPING MERGER.
During the course of his remarks on the Financial Statement yesterday afternoon Mr. H. G. Ell complained that the Union Steam Ship Company had passed under the control of the P. and 0. Shipping Company, and suggested that the sooner New Zealand had a State-control-led service the better it would be for New Zealand and the world as a whole.
