AMERICAN DELEGATES
WILL NOT GO TO CONFERENCE.

LONDON, 13th August. Mr. Samuel Gompers, president of the American Federation of Labour, has telegraphed to Mr. Havelock Wilson, president of the Seamen's and Firemen's Union, stating that the American Federation will not, be represented .at the Stockholm Conference, which it regards as prejudicial to the cause >of permanent peace and democracy. Mr. Gompers adds that he is unable to accept Mt. Wilson's invitation to visit England, as hie duties forbid him to leave America.
