THE FRONTIER STRUGGLE
GERMAN ATTACKS REPULSED
(ABSTBALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION AND KEUTEB.)
LONDON, 30th July.
A Russian official report states : South of Husiatyn we repulsed an attempt to cross the Zbruch River. \Ve repulsed.the enemy after a stubborn battle near Zareszck. The enemy, persistently attacking, slightly pressed us back in the regions of Zbimiach, Kiselin; and Stecova. The enemy compelled us to retire from the Carpathians to the region of Kamcraje and- Moldava. The eneniy pressed us back after all-day fighting towards Myiotyza, on the Rumanian A Zeppelin dropped twenty large bombs on Oeland (? Aland Island) in the Baltic. The enemy's hydroplanes dropped bombs without success on the islands of Tserel and Arensburg, in the Gulf of Riga.
ACROSS THE BORDER
LONDON, 30th July.
A German official report states : A considerable portion of our troops are now in Russian territory, after a battle which wo fought eastward of the Zbruch. River (which forms the eastern frontier of Galicia.)
