LOWER HUTT SITTING
The monthly sitting of the Magistrate's Court at Lower Hutt was held to-day, Mr. S. E.. M'Carthy, S.M., presiding, and having on the bench with him Messrs. J. Cudby and J. Wilkin, Justices of :the Peace.
For riding a bicycle after dark without a light B. Hug-hes was fined 5s and 7s costs. J. Aldred, for passing a. motor vehicle in another motor car on the wrong Bide at a time when there was a. heavy, volume of. traffio on the Hutt-road, was fined £5 and 17e costs, tho Magistrate remarking that tho offender had several previous convictions for breaches of the traffic bylaws. For allowing.stock to wander on the public roads, penalties as under wore inflicted:-—J. Bradley, £5 and 9s costs, Albert Peck, £2 and 9s costs; G. Farrow, £1 10a and 7a costs: A. J. Munro, 20s and 7s costs; A. Baker, 10s and 7s costs. . . . . Judgment was entered for plaintiff by default in the civil case of the trustees,,of the estate of E. J. Riddiford v. J. Everest, for a sum of £13 4s.
