BUTLER MURDER CASE
Cabinet to-day had under consideration the recommendation of the jury in the Butler murder case. It was decided to refer the case to a board of medical men for a report. Charles Butler was found guilty at Christchurch on 18th May of the murder of Henrietta Louisa Foster on Bth April. The jury' made a strong recommendation to mercy on the ground of the low mentality of the accused.
