FATE OF A LAUNCH
AN INQUEST.

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The body of Philip Edwin Fluerty, drowned with Charles Heard while fishing from Sumner in a launch on 6th 1 February, was found floating near Stunner on Saturday night. At an inquest ■the evidence showed that the boat, in a heavy south-wester, was taken in tow by an overseas steamer. Nearing LyttelJton, it is understood, tho forepart of the boat parted. A marine enquiry has been Held but the result is not to hand from Wellington. The Coroner said ho would ascertain the result of the enquiry, but no doubt the parting of the boat had ca-nsed the mishap. He would return a verdict of drowned through such accident.
