In the House of Commons, Mr.. C. B. Stanton Labour) asked Mr. W. H. Long (Colonial Secretary) whether .he would appoint a committee, with a view to cattle-raising in Queensland, New Zealand, South Africa, and Nigeria, to prevent American and other trusts cornering meat, and prevent these trusts securing more iand in the colonies for cattle-raising. Mr. Long said that it would be.impossible to constitute a committee without the aa-ent and co-operation of-the Dominion Governments. He was fully alive to the importance of the question, and anticipated that it would be discussed at the Imperial Conference.
