AN ENEMY INTRIGUE

LONDON, 23rd February. The Daily Telegraph's correspondent at Rome says that Swiss telegrams report an intrigue between the Court and politicians at Vienna and Munich, ■with the object o{ preparing a union of Austria and Bavaria, which woald cause disaster among the Central Powers. King Ludwig of Bavaria had frequent interviews with Emperor Carl, and when the Vatican was sounded regarding the eventuality, it promised support in order to.-sayathe-rCatholics of the-two Empires from Protestant influence's.
