CONSCIENTIOUS OBJECTION.
The ambulance train had ju6t pulled into the station and a badly-wounded "Tommy", was being carried up the platform. Suddenly an idea seemed to. strike him. "Hi, mate !"Vhe said to one of his bearers, "'are you a conscientious- objector?" "Yes," was'the reply. "Well," replied the wounded one, "if it's all the same to you, you might put me down and I'll wait till one of the other chaps has a minute or two to spare."
