CHRISTCHUECIT, 23rd February Wheat continues to be offered by growers, and millers are securing all the suitable lines up to the Government prices, and very little is to be obtained at below the maximum rates. Tue slowness with which thrashing is being earned on is to some extent solving the question of who is to find the necessary storage for wheat under the fixed price system. There is a keen demand for oats to cover Hie forward sales for delivery in the next two months, and prices have advanced on account of the scarcity of offerings. Up to 3s at country sta. tions can be obtained for prime samples of cither white or .coloured varieties. Growers who have lines of oats are not ready for sel* lcrs even at the increased prices. There is a fair demand for oatshear chaff at £3 5s to £3 IDs for immediate delivery. A few sales of potatoes for delivery next month arc being made at .t 4 15s to £5 per ton.
