CONFERENCE AT AUCKLAND

AUCKLAND, 22nd February. At the Industrial Corporation Conference a paper on "The Utilisation of Waste' Products," was read by Professor Worley, and. it was resolved that the subject be included in the -representations to- the Industrial' Efficiency Board, also that ;l closer union of scientists and manufacturers is of the utmost importance; and that it be a direction to competent associations to consider the question of having a. scientific library, in the four centres.

Mr. C. A. Wilson read a paper, on "Advertismg in Relation ,'to Manufacture," and the conference resolved to recommend its members to brand their products with their own name. Mr. T. Ballinger read a paper on "Apprentices and Technical Education," and- it was resolv.ed that the "Government be urged to make provision that boys and girls leaving school be enabled and compelled to attend continuation technical classes up to the iige of 16. \
