CONTROL OF LIQUOR
ONE-THIRD OF UNITED STATES DRY. - ,

WASHINGTON, 21st February. The Senate has passed a "bone-dry" amendment prohibiting shipments of liquor into States already having prohibition. This will make absolutely dry fifteen more States which now allow importations of liquor in limited quantities. A total of twenty-two States, comprising one-third of the area of the United States, will hereafter be absolutely dry. This is the first step ever taken by the Fedei-al Government to exercise control of liquor in the Sfates.
