PETONE SITTING.
The monthly sitting of the Petone Magistrate's Court was held this morning, before.Mr. L. G. Reid, S.M. Alfred Owen Bolton, charged with procuring liquor for a prohibited woman, was fined 40s, with. 9s costs, or in default 14 days' imprisonment. Jolm Hills, charged with being on licensed premises during the timo such premises wei'e closed, was iined 20s, with 7s costs. For a breach of a prohibition order Geo. Albert R.itson was fined 10s, with 7a costs. Harold Crawford and Stanley Nankivell. pleaded, guilty to interfering with a horse and cart, the property of tho Petone Borough Council, and'were each fined 40s, with 7s costs, or in default seven days' imprisonment. A similar case, against Robert Nankivell, for whom iir. E. P. Bunny appeared, was dismissed. J. Stephens, charged with casting offensive matter on the footpath, was convicted, and ordered to pay 7s costs. Bert Perm, 11. Saunders, Walter Taylor, and E. Coffey, for riding bicycles ■without lights, were each fined ss, with 7s costs. L. Carter, for driving ahorse and gig without a light, was penalised to tho extent of ss, with 7s costs. P. D. Rea, on charges of riding a motorcycle without a. light and having an un* registered motor-cycle, was fined on each charge 10s, with 7s costs, with an addition on the latter charge of 8s 6d witnesses', expenses and 21a solicitor's expenses. Mr. R. C. Kirk appeared for the Petone Borough Council. Wm. Jones, for furiously driving a team of horses, was fined 20s. with 7s costs, or iti default seven days' imprisonment. In. a. maintenance case, Frank De Lissa was ordered to pay an additional 5s per week to the support of his wife, making a total-of 255. .The ground of the application being the additional cost of living. Mr. H. F. yon Haast sppsared for the applicant and Mr. R-. C. Kirk for the defendant.
