The German press, in speculating on the Western position, admit the thoroughness p and far-reaching nature of the British preparation, but assert that they cannot break through, and express the hope that open fighting will 2'eplace trench warfare, when they are confident of repeating the Rumanian successes.
The papers say that the British armies have stood the test, but lack cer tain 1 qualities which the Germans possess. - ■
