Mr. W. G. RicWell, S.M., -was engaged in the Magistrate's Court to-day with the hearing of a civil action, in which William Francis Jacobson (Mr. T. H. Gill) sought to recover from Charles Thomas Andrew (Mr. R. Kennedy) the sum of £2 19s, alleged balance of rent due and the cost of clean-" ing the house after defendant had vacated it. Judgment was given for plaintiff for £2 is, with costs. "I have been much struck, when seeing Mr. Foster leading a child along the street, by the absolute confidence the children repose in him," was the eulogistic remark made by Mr.. Bedingfield last evening, with reference to the late headmaster of the Petone District High School.
