THE GERMAN COLONIES
AATLL NEVER RETURN TO GERMAN
RULE
LONDON. 31st January The Colonial Secretary (Mr Walter Long), in a speech at Westminster, declared that the German colonies shall, never return to German rule.
Mr. Long said: " We have taken possession of different German colonies in different parts of the world as a conse-. quence of the war, 1 speak with knowledge and responsibility, and as a representative of the Overseas Dominions, who are the wide and glory of the Empire, to-day, when I say, ' Let no man think that these territories will ever return to German rule.' "
