! In proposing the toast oE "The HeadI quarters Staff" Gapt. Keir, as an oJd volunteer officer, said he looked back on his last seven months' experience in camp as the most educative of his life. The warm hand of comradeship was always extended, and the sympathetic word of encouragement and guidance met him on all hands from the General Staff. • Some had said that the 22n<!s wore a good reinforcement —others had said it was one of if not the best. The toast would hardly bo complete without reference to Col. the Honourable J.as. Allen. As Minister of Defence the greatest'burden over thrust upon a. Minister of the Crown in this Dominion had been, laid upon him. How he had responded to it was history. REVIEWED BY THE GOVERNOR.
