BOROUG-H COUNCIL MEETING.

Those present at the meeting of the Miramar Borough Council last evening were:—The Mayor (Mr. F. Townsend), Councillors Underwood, Telford, Green, Hawthorn, and Pollock.

A letter was received from the Health Department drawing attention to the lack of drainage in Campbell-street, Seatoun. and suggesting that the system should be extended to the street.—After some discussion it was decided that the work ehould be carried out provided that the ratepayers concerned agree to pay half the cost of the work in proportion to the rateable value of their properties.

The Wellington Harbour Board forwarded a formal approval of the plans of the proposed work on the Seatoun foreshore.

In accordance with a recommendation of the Health Department, it was resolved to institute a vigorous campaignagainst flies during the coming summer. All houses in the borough are to be inspected at regular intervals, and a-ll residents are to be supplied with a circular summarising the Health Officer's recommendations on the matter.
