LONDON, 16th August. Recent remarks by the Bishop of London suggesting that women should be conditionally permitted to deliver addresses in the churches during the forthcoming mission have aroused an active controversy.
The Bisliop explains that he never intended to permit women to bo preachers. Ho asks the clergy to suspend their opinions till he confers with them. '
