PETROGRAD, 6th August. A communique states : Obstinate fighting continued on the banks of the Graberka and Sereth (south of Brody) all day, for the possession of the villages and heights.

After fierce street fighting, our attack was crowned with success. We captured six villages, and the heights between them.

A gallant Cossack reigment attacked the enemy's infantry to 'the south-west, prisonering over 3000. Our fire brought to a standstill an enemy offensive on the Prnth, southward of Delatvn.
