LONDON, 28th June. There is great interest and expectation in London and Paris as to the next big .war move. »
All the newspapers emphasise the artillery activity in the west, and especially on the. British front.
Under the heading "The Allies' Hour of Action," The Matin says : ' "The public must now watch the general war aspect, and judge each detail in relation to the whole."
PARIS, 27th June.
The reports which M. Briand (the French Premier) brought "back from the front of the splendid preparedness and morale of the British troops has filled France with confidence and encouragement.
The Temps states : "It is now the turn of the Germans to submit to a ceaseless hail of shells. They must understand that they are no longer our masters in this respect." *
Colonel, Rousset, writing in the newspaper Liberie, says: "The British artillery attack was a formidable one. The British Army to-day is a redoubtable force, and the Germans are so anxious about it that the violence of their bombardment at Verdun has slackened."
